We are delighted to announce that Gifford Primary School and Downe Manor Primary School formally became The Northala Federation on 13 October 2026, following the completion of the consultation process and approval by both Governing Bodies.

Building on our successful partnership, our schools are now united under one Governing Body, with a shared commitment to providing the very best education and opportunities for every child.

The federation will enable us to share expertise, build on the strengths of both schools and develop inspiring approaches to teaching and learning. Staff will have greater opportunities to collaborate, share successful practice and benefit from joint training and professional development.

For our children, this will mean richer learning experiences, opportunities to take part in shared activities and events, and the chance to build friendships across both school communities. Working together will also strengthen our support for pupils, helping us respond to their individual needs and celebrate their achievements.

Through shared leadership and careful use of resources, we will make the most of our collective skills and facilities, directing more of our efforts towards opportunities that benefit children and families.

Thank you to our families, staff, governors and wider school communities for your continued support. We look forward to building a strong and successful future together as The Northala Federation.

If you have any questions about the federation, please contact your school office.
