The Governing Bodies of Gifford Primary School and Downe Manor Primary School are jointly proposing to formalise their partnership by establishing a federation. This federation is proposed to be called The Northala Federation.
The Northala Federation is being proposed because the Governing Bodies believe that being part of a formal partnership provides benefits to each of the schools involved and is more likely to consistently achieve success than stand-alone schools.
There would be no change to the school name, school uniform and timings of the school day at either school if the federation is formed.
Please read the document below and share your feedback. You can do this by:
• Completing the online survey available here.
• Writing to the Executive Headteacher at either school address; or
• Attending one of the meetings below:
Gifford Primary School parent meetings
Tuesday 2nd June – 8:45am, 2:45pm and 5:30pm (virtual)
Downe Manor Primary School parent meetings
Wednesday 3rd June – 8:45am, 2:45pm and 5:30pm (virtual)
The consultation ends on 22nd June 2026, after which each Governing Body will consider the responses before making a final decision about whether to proceed.
Please contact the school office if you need help with this.
