Despite the cold, our Year 5 children have returned to Forest School. The children enjoyed digging through layers of time and history to excavate concrete, brick, rock and glass: the children cleaned their findings and made a museum to display the items.
On Tuesday 10th January, PC Pidding from The Metropolitan Police came in to speak to our Year 5 children about various issues that affect the wider community we live in. He spoke to the children about gangs, knife crime and grooming and built on their learning in PSHE relating to drugs and alcohol. The children learnt about ways to keep themselves safe, advice on making decisions relating to their safety and wellbeing and where to go for help.
The children had the chance to ask questions in a safe and non-judgmental environment.
