Year 6 children who went to watch The Lion King at London's West End had an amazing evening! Thank you to John Lyon’s Charity for funding the trip. Our children thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful opportunity, for which we are incredibly grateful.

Congratulations to our Year 5 and Year 6 QuadKids Athletics Team who took part in their competition at Perivale Track last week. A team competition where each individual performance contributes to the overall score of the team. Our ‘A’ Team managed to finish 1^st and our ‘B’ Team finished 2^nd bringing home Gold and Silver medals respectively. A fantastic performance and a warm up event for the Summer Athletics in a few weeks time. Well done!

Huge congratulations to our Year 5 and Year 6 Sitting Volleyball team. Having won their competition earlier on in the year we hosted St Gregory’s Primary in the Ealing Borough final. After a tough start the team battled from one set down to win the match by the tightest of margins and claim victory. As a result of being crowned Borough champions the team have been chosen to represent the Borough of Ealing at the London Youth Games later on in the year. A phenomenal achievement and one to be incredibly proud of. Let’s give it our all at the London Youth Games and make sure we represent our school and the London Borough of Ealing well!

Last week saw us celebrate the amazing diversity at Gifford. It was so fantastic top see so many of our children, staff and families embracing the diverse culture and joining with us to celebrate.

We were also lucky enough to have performances by Living Church and Just Dance Kids. Both performances were amazing and we hope you will join us in thanking them for providing such brilliant entertainment.

In their science lessons, children in Year 6 have been studying the circulatory and cardiac systems. They had the incredible chance to examine and dissect lamb hearts. 

It’s been a cracking week as we welcomed 5 fluffy friends into Early Years at Gifford Primary. 

This year we immersed into spellbinding characters and embraced the magic of story telling by dressing up as wizards and witches. Having just watched the YouTube video I can see what great lengths the school took in order to make this a memorable, fun and utterly enjoyable day for the children. On Saturday 24th February, our Year 5 and Year 6 Choir members performed alongside Ealing Symphony Orchestra. Hundreds of people attended the classical concert arranged by Ealing Music Service and the event was sold out!

My Voice Matters is about empowering children and young people by providing them with the tools they need to express themselves. During Children’s Mental Health Week here at Gifford, the children expressed themselves by sharing recent examples of when they were Kind, Strong and Proud. They had so much to say that we completed the boards quickly!

There were 4 helpers in Year 5 and Year 6 that supported Place2Be with collecting voices (Emaan, Harnoor, Yusra & Yusuf); Mrs. Masih who helped create the art; and some of her Thursday afternoon Year 6 class who brought it to life. A huge thank you to all involved and well done to the pupils for reflecting and sharing their wonderful examples.

Despite the cold, our Year 5 children have returned to Forest School. The children enjoyed digging through layers of time and history to excavate concrete, brick, rock and glass: the children cleaned their findings and made a museum to display the items.
